Chasing abstract scenery when shooting pictures is always entertaining. You’re not quite sure what you’re actually looking for and you need to think differently than on a normal shoot. Actually, you might even need to do the opposite of what you’ve learned about photography to get that surpricing and quite different photography. Try not to think about rule of thirds, try not to think about a certain amount of depth of field, try not to…..
To find that abstract scenery and get that very different photo you need to let new moods overwhelm and surprice you.
Photography at Volkspark am Weinberg
While being on holiday in Berlin this summer an abstract scenery suddenly appeared before me! I was eating ice cream with my kids in the nice Volkspark am Weinberg and while the kids then had fun imagening an enormous shark in the park pond I suddenly was overwhelmed by this abstract scenery:

This photo is a simple photo of the sun just appearing between 2 clouds very close together. The abstract touch is added to the scenery by shooting the sun and the two skies in the reflection of the sun and skies in the pond. The reflection adds a beautiful and very natural watercolor effect to the photo.
The picture is edited in Photoshop; adjusted in Levels and the yellow and blue colors of the picture given just a bit more intensity using Photo Filter.
